Fulfilling The Great Commission in Oman!!!

“…baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19)

RESURRECTION POWER!!! Can ya feel it?!

Brother Anil, from Sri Lanka, preached on “Resurrection Power” on Friday, March 28th.
“And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” (Romans 1:4)
“And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our manner of life in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:1-6)
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” (2 Timothy 1:9-10)
Christ came to give us:
– a new life
– a new birth
– a new beginning
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Dugal and His "Job-Like Smile"

Job as in “the man from the Bible“, not as in “occupation“! (Reminds me of a scene in Mission Impossible where a verse from the book of Job is used as clue…but I am off on a tangent!!!) I always enjoy our Friday morning before service coffee. Please be praying for Dugal as he is seeking the LORD’s SPECIFIC will and calling in his life these days. “When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them.” (JOB 29:24)

Learning Arabic is Tough!

I love this photo at the church “lighthouse” which is telling people to remove their shoes. “Shookran” is Arabic for “Thank you“, of course. Made me think of how difficult it is to learn a foreign language and how it often helps to have “word pictures” to assist your brain in remembering! This is known as the Key Word Method in which you select a key word in English that sounds like the foreign word.

I don’t know if this sheep has a habit of running away but they had one of his legs tied up with string and attached to a nearby tree…

Friendly locals! Hamed is a typical Omani student who goes to his village to help his grandfather with the farming on weekends. What a faithful grandson!
