AL RUSTAQ – 120 kms from Ibri – on the way to Muscat

“For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure…” (2 Corinthians 10:14) I’ve often seen goats stretching themselves to get some leaves off of trees, but by the time you get the camera out, they have usually fled! Well, I finally got one! I thought the beginning of the quoted Bible verse was appropriate for this cute little goat but for the whole quote and intended meaning, check out: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Corinthians%2010:14;&version=9;

That is a girl with those goats. I tried to get a photo (and asked if it was ok by gesturing…) of the Omani girl as she led her goats down the road, but she was camera shy (like ALL girls here) and turned her back to me at the last moment!

Road Trip! Road Trip!

Another Wednesday evening in Al Ain with the boys…

The border crossing into the UAE but you didn’t see it here as no photography is allowed!

The Kung-Fu Panda looks right at home in the Al Ain mall next to white dishdashas and black abayas!

Jonathan at Trader Vics in Al Ain

Yeah! I couldn’t think of a better way of trying to sell baby seats!!!

They’ve even got their own little amusement park at the Al-Ain MAll.

More “FORTOGRAPHS”!

It’s amazing how much garbage is lying around some of the places here. Plastic bags blowing in the wind, stuck in trees and even being munched on by goats is a common sight when driving through the desert. (Notice the ancient well in the photo…)

You wouldn’t want to trip and fall down there!

There are many interesting gates such as this one in the quaintest little villages!

Friendly Omani Greeting (Demonstrated by Ibri Students)

2 of my students wanted to demonstrate one of several ways that Omani males greet one another.
