Our Salalah Tour (Part 4 of 5): Scenic Road to Fizayah Beach

After Mughsail Beach (part 1 of tour) and our twisting drive down the hairpin bend road towards Fazayah Beach (part 2) (which took us past a gorgeous “secret beach”-part 3), we finally reached the 6-km gravel road to Fazayeh.

It’s always cool to see camels on the coast! 🙂

4X4 is not mandatory for this road, but it’s recommended!  Our tourguide mentioned that the road was constructed only about 2 years back.

This spot is where the road shifts from heading towards the cliff to heading towards the beach(es) of Fazayeh below.  Forgive what seems like repetitive shots. Each one has its own beauty and so I wanted to share each of them for (what I think are) their different focal points.

I’m usually the guy behind the camera, but every now and then the family insists on a shot of me.  This is one of my favorite daddy/Naomi pics from our vacation! 🙂

I think you can get a pretty decent idea of how awesome the Fazayah beaches are from some of these photos.  The tourist maps/sites always mention “Fazayah” Beach but there are at least 5 distinct beaches that I will share with you in the next and final post from our incredible tour with Al Fawaz Tours.  You won’t believe some of the images!

“Can it be? Can it be?”

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR This Thursday! (Nov. 29, 2012)

1 month left till Christmas! Why not get yourself into the Christmas spirit by attending the Muscat Women’s Fellowship Christmas Bazaar this Thursday at the Protestant Church of Oman (PCO) Bosch Hall in Ghala Church?!

**UPDATE**- It has come to my attention that the hours posted here on this church slide are WRONG! The Bazaar will be from 9am until 2pm. Sorry for the mix-up!!!

This is actually the 2nd Christmas Bazaar that the PCO is running.  The 1st was in 2010 and we skipped last year for some reason.  I can tell you that it was a lot of fun 2 years ago and I meant to share some pics with you then but never got around to it.  Here are some pics from the 2010 Christmas Bazaar to give you an idea of what to expect:

From the moment you enter, you are almost guaranteed to feel the Chrismas spirit kick in!  One thing the ladies from the Muscat Women’s Fellowship know is hospitality!  🙂

On of the many raffle prizes up for grabs at the 2010 Bazaar was this Chrismas cake.  I wonder if they’ll have raffle prizes again!

You can find just about anything under the sun for sale at the bazaar!

We even had some gents from nhi (national hospitality institute) on board to help out with the Bazaar in 2010!

You may get a chance to see life-long missionary to Oman, Mrs. Eloise Bosch at the Bazaar!

So if you’re in the Muscat area on Thursday, come on down!  Bring your smiles and your wallets because if it’s anything like the bazaar in 2010, it’ll be a lot of fun with plenty of bargains to take advantage of! 🙂

Our Salalah Tour (Part 3 of 5): “Hidden Treasure” Secret Beach on Hairpin Bend Road

This gorgeous beach is located between Mughsail Beach and Fazayeh Beach.  If I had more time in Salalah, this would definitely be a great beach to try out after a decent hike down!  Here is a video showing the turn off from the Hairpin Bend Road on the way to Yemen for anyone interested in trying to find this spot:
