Dubai Fountain at the Dubai Mall

ImageIt was a packed night at the Dubai Fountain show at the Dubai Mall last night (9:30pm).  Seems like everyone in the world was there.  First of all, it’s the Dubai Rugby Sevens which means the city is packed with athletes and fans. It’s also a 4 day weekend for those of us from Oman (Nov 27-30th) to celebrate Oman’s 43rd National Day.  It’s also the UAE’s 42nd National Day weekend.  Great atmosphere there.  Wonderful time to be in Dubai!ImageImageCheck out the video I took of the Dubai Fountain show.  I had an unobstructed view and it’s in HD! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light!

A great wordpress weekly photo challenge theme for this week: “Let There Be Light!”.ImageHow’s the Burj Khalifa lit up on the very night that Dubai learned that they won the vote for Expo 2020 for a light source?! (In case you don’t know, that was last night!)  They had it lit up with this special blue lighting which made it look so “otherworldly”!Imageburj khalifa blue light

2 Amazing Omani Ladies! Sabah & Safiya Al Bahlani

If you want to hear about 2 absolutely amazing women from Oman, you really need to watch this video from the 2013 TED x Talk in Muscat.  Sabah al Bahlani and Safiya (Sofi) al Bahlani are a mother-daughter team that speak for those without a voice and are changing minds in how people look at “disability”. Everyone is born for a reason, a purpose, a mission.” (Safiya al Bahlani) Amen!
