The Daily Mail says this song is “set to make temperatures soar”. With the cool temperatures brought on by the recent rains, let’s hope so! 🙂
Anyone recognize which exact areas of Oman are in this video? I’m pretty sure I recognize the dhow (Arabian boat) and area of Bandar Khiran from 1:19-1:22 and again at 2:08-209. The mountains and hills of Oman are so beautiful that most of the shots could have been filmed just about anywhere.
This song was published on youtube just 6 days ago (Jan. 15, 2014) and already has more than 507,000 views!
I wonder if the ruins are the Munisifeh ruins of Ibra? It looks like they might be! Stunning! I think I’ll reblog this, Andy, on to my Oman blog!!
No idea, Cathy, as I’ve never spent any time around Ibra! You would probably know best as you seem to have traveled all over the sultanate!
Funny! Mario and I both thought it could be either Munisifeh or the ruins at Adam. 🙂
I wish they’d let us know the shooting locations but I can’t seem to find any specific info when googling for it. I’ll try to check out those spots if I’m ever near Ibra or Adam in my last few months in the Sultanate.
I would highly recommend both of these sets of ruins, Andy. When do you leave Oman?
Reblogged this on a nomad in the land of nizwa and commented:
This Indian song “Jiya” is from an Indian movie “Gunday” that’s due to come out in February. Thanks to Andy in Oman for posting about this. This song is stunningly gorgeous, as is the scenery, all filmed apparently in Oman. I wonder if the ruins are the Munisifeh ruins in Ibra.
That was kind and unnecessary of you to mention me in your reblog! 🙂 Thanks, Cathy.
By the way, I saw this movie when it came out on Valentine’s Day. In typical Bollywood fashion, it’s highly dramatic and 2 1/2 hours long! It’s like an Indian version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The song was the best part of it! 🙂
If you enjoyed it, then I’ll definitely have to try and get a copy of this movie, Cathy. Glad to see you’re doing well in America. I enjoyed reading your review of the Bubba Gump (Forrest Gump inspired) restaurant as I tried it for the first time in Manila last summer and we loved it.
I think I need to go to Bubba Gump again! Yum. 🙂
As far as the movie, it’s typical Bollywood, so highly dramatized. In other words, lots of glistening bodies and rippling muscles and dramatic music playing while these hunks are walking around. I don’t think it’s for everyone, that’s why I say the song is the best part. 🙂
How can it be fair that she has so many of the beauty genes? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Yes, she is quite the looker! Not to be compared to the gorgeous Mrs. Brown mind you (covering my tracks here!) but attractive nonetheless!) 😉
Lovely…
Glad you liked that, Dulcinea! Blessings always!
I’ve been to that place with the abandoned dhow so many times. Regular hangout. Total tranquility. It’s quite hard to find. The sea crawls into the mountains in that place.
Yes, an incredible location!
Yes yes! This song’s location is in ibra, near muscat the capital! Lol I was born hear so know this hehe :p
