Image“And They Made Sweet Music”
You might want to attend this Muscat Singers concert at TAISM this coming Saturday, May 31st. I was told that you can get tickets at the door as people who buy tickets sometimes don’t show up.
While I’m on the topic of Muscat Singers, here’s another announcement from them about their search for a new Musical Director:
The Chedi’s Summer Offer & Upcoming Social Media Competition
The Chedi’s summer offer promotion (from May 5th to Aug 31st) seems to be the best offer for a five star hotel in the city (as far as I know), a special OMR 85++ rate for local residents only. This includes breakfast, wifi, selection of the mini-bar, discounts at The Spa (30%) and 20% discount on food and soft drinks. To make a reservation or find out more information, contact The Chedi Muscat at +968-2452-4401 or email them at reservation@chedimuscat.com (Valid resident ID is required. Offer is subject to availability.)
Here’s the promo pic:
Readers of this blog will be happy to know that the Chedi is willing to let one lucky reader of this blog enjoy a free one-night stay. Some other bloggers and I will be meeting with the Marketing Communications Executive over dinner at the Chedi to discuss the details. (It’s a rough life, I know! 😉 ) Stay tuned and details of the social media competition will be revealed soon! 🙂
Missing Cat in North Al-Hail (Muscat) – 100 Rial Reward
This cat is deeply loved and sorely missed. Please contact 99207180 if you happen to spot “Fat Bob”! I’m putting this info out there to help a dear friend who has adopted this poor kitty. The cat has had a rough life after being shot by some young Omani punks and needs to return home where he is loved and appreciated. “The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel.” (Proverbs 12:10)

Doner Kebab Oman!
Have any of you tried the new German Doner Kebab which opened up in Muscat City Center on April 5th? Everytime I thought to give it a try, the lineups were too long! Finally got a chance to try it out on Saturday and now I understand why the line has been so long!
The Doner Kebab is a lot like a swarma but even more delicious!
Plenty of toppings and so fresh!
For my first meal at Doner Kebab, I tried the Doner Kebab Meal for 2.9 Omani rials. It was a very filling and satisfying meal! Let’s take a closer look at the sandwich:
I love the taste and texture of the waffle-like bread. You really have to try this for yourself if you’ve never had one.
Doner Kebab is also open in Zakher Mall (since April 7th). According to their facebook page, they are planning on opening in several other locations in Oman. Why not post a comment on their facebook page and let them know where you’d like this fantastic chain to open next?! Like Charley’s Subs, this is another great addition to the dining options at MCC!
